Jivemind Cooperative Music Labs is a kinetic co-working space, resource center, and incubator for anyone who wants to make music; it is a way around the costs and friction of the music world.

The best resource we have, though, is people. Jivemind is meant to be a place that facilitates networking and cross-pollination among musicians.

Problem

Phoenix, Arizona is well-populated, but still very sparse. The challenges of distance and a lack of common space are not easy to overcome, especially in a digital age. Being a musician here is especially taxing (both literally and figuratively). Clean, effective rehearsal spaces conducive to creativity are few and far between in the Valley. Furthermore, networking is almost impossible. Finally, taking up music is expensive. Instruments and other gear are necessary, but many times it's not worth the initial investment. How many of you reading this have an instruments tucked away in a closet or storage space doing nothing but collecting dust? The current way of doing things is wasteful and ineffective, and we're actively trying to change that.

Solution

Jivemind aims to give musicians affordable access to everything they need, from gear to education. We intend to remove the barriers and excuses that plague musicians (e.g. "I can't afford the gear", "I don't have a place to practice", "it's too expensive", etc.). Jivemind Cooperative Music Labs operates like a gym. You join (i.e. get a monthly partnership) and we give you access to many of the resources needed to start or further your musical career.
