The Avesnois Environmental Fair will take place from 27 to 28 June in Chain (59). The Environmental Fair is a big event for the protection of the environment. The following topics will be discussed: the environment, organic farming, sustainable development, renewable energy, health, fair trade, etc. The protection of the environment is increasingly important! We will also take stock of the risks, challenges and changes and, most importantly, propose solutions to do better, behave differently and live in closer harmony with our environment.
The fair will be a forum bringing together people and events in a great atmosphere.

The protection of the environment is an issue that is more relevant today than ever! Our environment is currently under threat.
Media coverage on the environment is increasing, environmental organizations are sounding the alarm, and each and every one of us can observe it at our own level. Decreasing biodiversity, soil and ocean pollution and global warming are all signs of the current deterioration of our environment. The Grenelle Environment Forum helped to take stock of the situation and gave us ambitious objectives.
Let us get organized to fulfill these objectives: we can all do something, individually and collectively!

Idée est unique et différente
The fair is being organized not in a large and famous city but in a little village in the north of France. The aim is to reach out also to the people who are far from the cities.
It is organized completely, from beginning to end, by 15-year old young people within a junior association: “Agir-Environnement”.

Impact
The objective of this event, which is aimed at the general public, is to enable all citizens to know and understand the environment and to act to protect it.
Raise the public’s awareness on the protection of the environment.
Reach out to and inform consumers so that they can become active consumers!
Show our citizens what is happening in their area, get them to participate and get involved in projects.
Bring together associations in the same area, get them to work together and possibly lead to the emergence of new projects.
Efficacité
To date, our 3 partners have benefited from our project by having their logos on the outreach materials as well as 600 people through a mini environment fair organized in June 2008.
For the 2009 fair, we are expecting 200 visitors from Avesnois and the surrounding areas (public concerned: everyone).

To finance our project, we are also organizing car washes, lotteries, etc.

The Story
Motivation
We are four young people who are particularly concerned by the conservation of the environment and the quality of food products. We want to share this passion in order to make people realize that we can all act to protect our environment. This is how our environmental fair was born! The event is organized by the junior association “Agir- Environment” to which all four of us young people belong (the objective of the association is to raise public awareness about environmental issues), with strong local support from residents, associations and the commune. (Mini environmental fair organized previously).

We were featured on the French TV channel LCI, which paid tribute to our work.
Contexte
Les liens sont quatre jeunes qui sont tous particulièrement sensibles à la préservation de l’environnement et à la qualité des produits alimentaires. Ils avaient envie de partager cette passion pour faire prendre conscience aux gens que nous pouvons tous agir pour protéger notre environnement. Ils ont décidé non pas d'installer leur salon dans une grande ville mais dans un petit village afin de pouvoir toucher le plus de monde possible.
