Alim Maherali is the President and Founder of ACI. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and has been working with start-ups companies since 2004. Alim holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) from the University of Waterloo . He also completed a post graduate certificate in project management and has earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. Alim is currently with WIND Mobile and is the author of a success and motivation blog called Alim's Insights & Quotes (Alim's IQ) at www.alimconsulting.com/iq. Alim is the visionary behind the c3 conference and is managing the overall project.

the c3 Conference is bringing together high-engergy, high potential students to solve probelms in various areas ranging from social change, academic research and traditional business entrepreneturship. We are solving the problem of starting a intiatives that can change the world by bring together the people who can make it happen.

The vision of the conference is to encourage students from WLU and UW to collaborate on building infrastructure that helps them and future students develop new skills and competencies in innovative ways. Unlike other existing groups or conferences, this conference is not just about entrepreneurship, it's about collaboration! Collaboration is key in just about everything: academic exploration, new venture creation, social change, you name it. We want to help develop critical skills that will help participants reach their full capabilities.

The ideas are formed during the breakout session and the teams continue to build their ideas after the conference ends.

Social Impact
What is the social impact you have had to date and how you measure it?
over 100 people have been inspired to attend and work with the conference in its first year. Going foward our sponsorship team is raising funds to sponsor new initiatves including those for social change. We measure success by the number of attendees, the feedback from their surveys.

Whether its academic research, social change or business entrepreneurship, we give participants the network and skills to take on initiatives that will add value to the world.

By bringing together high energy, high potential students to work on social change initiatives we want to cross pollinate ideas and entrepreneurship passion from Canada to the rest of the world
What aspects of your stay in Uganda as part of the competition do you think you will find most challenging and rewarding?
