Oceans Project Georgia
Location
An environmental education and film making project for 8-25 year olds in the country of Georgia. We promote self development, team work, and creativity through scientific expeditions with Earthwatch, snorkelling, education through expeditions, International Award for Young People, and volunteer action and clean ups within our community. Our young people come from private and state schools, university, IDPS, refugees, and orphans. In 2013 our Director wil row across the Pacific Ocean to help inspire young people and to raise ocean awareness.
Reason:
Because we love phish food ice cream, even though it is not available in our country, and we think our Oceans Project would work perfectly if advertised on that particularly pot of yumminess. Never before has eating ice cream promoted the conservation of the ocean, inspired young people, or changed lives. Our project is based on the BBC Oceans television series and has a BBC Presenter and a world famous Atlantic Ocean rower as it's patrons. We are raising money for conservation work on the oceans through Earthwatch, are writing a workbook that we want all leaders of young people to have access to, and our Founder and Director is about to try and set 4 world records rowing from America to Australia in the name of science, and education!
