I think you have a great idea here but reading it left me wanting more information. I think it would help if you had more specifics about how many people you want to train and how many more centers you want built. You also put that you don't wish to influence public policy, however, you are working with the government as we speak. It sounds like you need to influence public policy to take another look at maternal healthcare and the resources the government is going to spend to help mothers. Keep up the good work!

Hi Jake,
Thanks for your comment.AIF is running three maternal and child health centres at present. Our aim is to sustain these centres for another two-three years instead of opening new centres. We are targetting population which stays in very interior villages where govt health care facilities are neglible.Though we are working with govt but it is at a very micro level ( village level) we are trying to change the way govt officials looks at healthcare but to influence the public policy at state and national level is time consuming.we have trained all the traditional birth attendents within the community. This year our target is to impact around 7500 lives through our intervention.

This is an important initiative, and we’re interested in learning more about your work. Would you mind filling out your entry form with more details on your initiative? Specifically, in these villages, how do you reach out to the people? Do you provide health education as well? How have you convinced people to access and use health care facilities if they traditionally have not used them before? Lastly, why have you decided to only keep 3 mother and child centers and not more? We look forward to your response and remember to filter your additional comments back into your entry form so that our team can better evaluate your submission!

under project Disha,we are also working with adolescent boys and girls.in our intervention area the girg's education level is very poor then boys.and the girls are living at home and they do work at home and field.we also do meetimgs with girl's and giving them information about hyegine, reprotective transmitted infection(RTI),HIV/AIDS and aneamia, nutritution etc.we also advice to the girgl's take iron folic acid tablets from ANM.we do meetings regularly with girl's and make peer educated in each groups of girl's and also advice to share our information to other girls.in the begining it was difficult to gather the girl in meetings but now we are doing stitchng training with girls and they come to learn in the S.centre and we do meetings with them.through our stitching training they are getting health education and tailoring.
the boys of our intervention area:maximum after five class they go out other states for earning money and they started to take smoke, alcohal and also use to go red light area with friends and carrying new diseases at home.to stop this type of migration of school going boys,we are doing voccational training like wall painting,Electrcian and electrnical goods repairing training for boys.
