What makes your idea unique?

Over 80 percent of adult South Africans have cell phones making Phone cards and used phones desirable. Organizations like hopephones.org donates used phones to non-profits and MTN South Africa is already using the remaining characters in the SMS message to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. What is unique about our approach is that we uses this channel to give even more targeted message with a incentive and we would also take advantage of the fact that the mobile company has a general idea as to where the subscriber is located to give more directed instructions like you can come to location xyz for testing and you would receive a $5 card. We can buy the cards in bulk for abt $3 each. We will especially target townships where they have a 40 percent positive HIV rate.

9 percent. South Africa has one of the highest HIV infection rates in the world. We hope that by testing of pregnant women and the AZT treatment we can reduce the transmission rates.

Problem
