My idea involves a set of actions, partnerships and achievement of the following objectives:

• Offer Maternal Dance for socially responsible companies and departments of culture and health.
• Replicate Maternal Dance methodology to Professionals of Sao Paulo and other Brazilian states.
• Support Natural and Normal Childbirth, and Breastfeeding.

Inovação
Por que a ideia é única e qual o diferencial em relação aos demais projetos do mesmo campo de atuação?
Encompassing health, culture and wellbeing, the distinction of Maternal Dance it is in fact the cross-disciplinary and multi-referential approach.
In practice, the Maternal Dance for Pregnant Women is to create a space in women's routines so that it can be dedicated entirely to herself and the baby and enjoy the benefits of dance and exercise appropriate to this phase, which may contribute to the maintenance and improvement of well being and prepare it for delivery as natural as possible. It also enables them to share experiences with other women who are also experiencing pregnancy, counting with the facilitation of a professional in the field of dance that, as a woman, have had the experience pregnancy and childbirth.
The Maternal Dance for Mothers and Babies innovates by providing women the opportunity to dance and take care of themselves and their baby after delivery, in a joyful, healthy and safe manner, and make school a place of rehabilitation and sociability in which your baby is welcome and where you can share experiences with other women who are experiencing motherhood. Classes include guidance on the use of the sling, special care to strengthen the growth engine of the baby as well as conscious physical actions of the mother on herself and at times of feeding, bathing and interacting with the baby.
For the Maternal Dance for Mothers, Fathers and Babies, we provide an addition to the benefits above mentioned. This work innovates by proposing to strengthen the family unit, bringing the father to dance with the baby and his wife, stimulating child care while bringing focus on the couple. Activities with massage and dance from popular culture are conducted in pairs, and revive the story of the couple, strengthening the bond and highlighting why they are together, the way they went through to conceive their child together.

This project is intended to solve the problem of breaking between cultural activities, physical activities and being with the baby, working on this multiplicity of factors at altogether.

With regard to man, the classes aim to contribute to the promotion of the role of father, stimulating closeness and familiarity with the child, strengthening partnership and affection for his wife.

A história

In conversations with Ana Cristina Duarte, doula who accompanied my birth, I talked about my willingness to create a dance course for pregnant women, because I very much wanted to share with other women the benefits they enjoyed by dance throughout my pregnancy: I felt good prepared, confident in my ability to give birth and was doing very well on a clinical point of view.
It was an intense dance experience of contact and connection with my baby and myself. I danced and meditated during my labor and I keep these moments with great affection.
By that moment, Ana Cristina suggested I develop a work in which mothers dance with their babies. I really appreciated the suggestion and began to experiment with my daughter Nina in the sling. Following that, I developed a series of changes to the way teaching dance for the practice to be healthy for mothers, safe and comfortable for babies. I also build a specific approach for working with pregnant women. When my daughter was 06 months, I start teaching these two courses. Then it came the idea of a monthly class on Saturdays, with the presence of parents.
Currently I am also starting to develop a class for mothers with babies older than 1 year, mixing times in the sling and on the ground with challenges appropriate to each stage of development and bearing in mind the health of mother and child interaction.
Conte-nos a biografia do(a) inovador(a) social que criou ou lidera esta inovação
I was born in Sao Paulo, capital. Inequality between genders always raised questions.
While dancing since childhood, and clearly tended towards an artistic career, I was very interested in Geography in high school.
I entered the University of Sao Paulo and enchanted me with the geography of land, and this area did my undergraduate scientific and TGI, with the theme: "Spatially, Territorialization and Gender: The differential role of women in the struggle for land."
Oriented Ariovaldo Umbelino de Oliveira, I was plunged into the world of social movements fighting for land. When I realized there I was captivated by the life and strength of those landless women in their multiple roles. I realized that I could not work as a geographer, because I liked to be between them much more than "geographycal" aspect. During college I turned irretrievably to dancing: studied dance of Brazilian popular culture, traveled to Brazil, researched, worked with physiotherapists, danced, choreographed, directed and created a group, I went to an international festival with the group, came back and started further study of contemporary dance techniques and again I faced "the feminine" in the duo-Mutual Self-Knowledge, with the cellist Tania Mello Neiva. Meantime, I learned to be also an artist, educator, first and foremost for myself, so I have been teaching and learning people of all ages and social conditions, a fact that makes me very happy and taught me greatly about life. Today, I am a mother of a 2-year girl, which is my great inspiration for the Maternal Dance. Currently I'm also rehearsing a solo called BIRTH, a project that was born from my perception of many body memories of pregnancy and the birth of Nina. This work is in the process of creating and testing and is being directed by dancer Patricia Werneck and it will have testimonials about the births of several women. I think that is all for now. I predict a lot of dancing to happen in life, whether in class, on stage at the Masters, and so I go with the Maternal Dance and my artwork, which also involves a new association called Detour.
