VOTE for Photo Voice: Pursuing Scale-up Funding

Given how interesting and successful our pilot project was, we have started seeking scale-up funding. Two ways we currently undertaking this class include the "Take Perspective... Someone Else's" mini-grant competition (by Echoing Green) and the "Connect with Your Community" grant competition (by Echoing Green and GOODmaker). Both of these grants are designed to help the winners connect more deeply with their target communities; Photo Voice allows us to understand maternal health from a more local perspective, and allows us to observe the reactions and interactions of our target communities regarding those issues. The first grant would provide $500 and allow us to scale into ten new areas; the second grant would provide $1,000 and allow us to scale into 5 new areas, but work with more photographers and host more exhibitions in each area. We will learn the outcome of the first grant competition next week, and learn whether we make it to finals in the second competition around the same time.
