We will develop a dynamic website widget that interactively engages and benefits online publisher sites, businesses and charities in the following way: publisher widgets will display links to businesses that will donate a portion of the proceeds of any purchase to a participating charity. In short, each time a reader/viewer clicks on the charitable advertisement that click is tracked by the system. If a purchase is made at the linked business within a specific period of time, that purchase referral is credited to the publishing site. Other fringe benefits will be available to the publishers as well including status links posted prominently on the main widget website which, in turn, will send them traffic and improve their search engine rankings. The net result: a participating business gets exposure, new customers and an improved charitable image while the publisher gets to support a good cause, improve their image as well and fill vacant and otherwise unused advertising space. This innovation will not only provide more steady streams of income to non-profits without the means to canvass or solicit more broadly but it will also allow people who feel they do not have the time or money to contribute what they can to good causes.
