Describe Your Idea
Innovation
What is your idea? What makes it innovative? Why is it important?
In 1988, after interviewing around 2,000 children, young adults, workers, the vulnerable, economically poor and those affected by conflict from different backgrounds, I found that most of them were “Vegetating” and 95% not living meaningfully and joyfully, due to being engaged in professions where they were finding tasks difficult to accomplish. An article related to the research titled “Meaningful Work for the young” when published by the UN development forum (Please see attached) motivated me to develop a program for the Identification and development of Primary Talents/Strengths, and implement it to correct this imbalance. As the article was published in English and French, I received hundreds of letters from all over the world expressing interest on wanting to establish TIDY centres. I also received a letter (Please see attached) from Rotary International on the manner I should go about establishing TIDY centers.
The first TIDY centres were established in Eastern DR Congo and they were able to identify, analyze & refine natural Talents/Strengths of the unemployed & traumatized to enable them become gainfully employed; recover and reinsert child soldiers preventing them returning to Mai Mai camps; enable HIV+ve persons to work until they were ready to die; motivate OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children) to understand the purpose of life, to enroll in schools.
This submission is to enable the initiators of TIDY centres to broadcast the power of the strategy and process of the TIDY program to create employment in any area of the world within three (3) months of first contact, and bring the message to citizens concerned of the manner unemployment is destroying moral and social values, to establish TIDY centres in every school and village. The facilitators of TIDY centers are able to do this as they awaken the power of reasoning embedded within human, to realize that they “need not be poor”, when they have powerful Talents/Strengths.
Impact
What will be the impact of your idea?
Almost every person that made contact with the TIDY/ACBL (Advisory Centres for Better Living-in EDR Congo) centres had their Talents/Strengths analyzed and received loans to be self-employed in an activity of their choice, which made them dynamic, creative and earn sufficiently. They also found that they need not be envious of others in their community (of different tribes and affiliations) as they had different Talents/Strengths that were able to contribute to everyone becoming “Rich”, as they were all a part of some Value Chain (VC). Employees found those that had their Talents/Strengths identified and polished/refined by master coachers of TIDY/ACBL centers, were able to provide excellent services and manufacture refined products. This increased profits that were shared among the employees, increasing their income, enabling them to live better lives.
A pre-engagement for attaining impact system (see attached) was established to challenge those that were hesitant to engage themselves to become “Rich” to focus on making money rather than vegetating on their misery.
The initiators and concerned citizens that share my vision living in many countries assure that there will be very high impact when they establish TIDY programs in schools and villages. The ripple effect will automatically enable everyone to identify commonalities rather than focus on divergences and also create peace and harmony. We would also be able to assure the emergence of honest & Talented leaders ! ! !
This Entry is about (Issues)
People: We are looking for ideas from people who can make them happen.
Interviews for assessing the happiness levels of children, young adults and unemployed were carried out by me since 1986. Once the concept for the program to address the issues was done, implementation of parts of the program began in Niger in 1991. When it was found that there was a lack of services and access to MicroFinance for the poorest and the lack of rapid solutions for people affected by the volcano in eastern DR Congo, it moved me to work with others that shared my vision to establish CCMV (Centres de Conseils de Mieux Vivre- ACBL Advisory centres for better living) to provide most of the services outlined by the TIDY program.
We have a team of around 25 concerned persons in EDR Congo. Initially, they will expand their outreach to broadcast the message to villages around where they operate. They are also ready to establish TIDY/CCMV/ACBL centres or programs in schools.
In Sri Lanka, advertisements were placed to generate interest and also interview the honest and those concerned with the degradation of values due to unemployment (see attached) to establish branches of the TIDY Centre. I interviewed around 250 persons. They are ready to move forward.
Discussions and blogs were placed on different websites to broadcast the message. Please see them at: http://www.dailymirror.lk/DM_BLOG/Sections/BlogCentral/frmBlogComments.a... http://spmconsortium.ning.com/video/movie-tidy-board-dehiwala
Sustainability
How much will it cost to launch your idea?
The first CCMV/ACBL centers affiliated to the TIDY center were established with funds from the UK and USA. I invested my personal savings to broadcast the process since 1988 and establish the first TIDY center in SriLanka. I have started fundraising and many entrepreneurs are interested. The seed money of $50,000 will enable me to place additional advertisements to broadcast the message in areas where there is poverty and unemployment to rapidly change mindsets and change, interview additional concerned citizens, establish contact and involve the private sector and government ministries in different countries, work with initiators in DR Congo to expand the outreach and also establish a few branches of the TIDY center in Sri Lanka.
Once we broadcast the message and hold seminars in schools and at service clubs (Such as Rotary) we are sure that we will be able to raise additional funds to replicate the program in every country where there is high unemployment, poverty and destitution.
