The 'seed of life' garden has been endorsed by the Nevada County School System's Wellness Policy Committee. The Nevada County Recycling Department utilizes it to demonstrate an Outdoor Classroom in their Full Circle Demonstration Garden.

It is a garden designed to catalyze sustainability. It is a health education tool, the core of a disaster relief plan, and a community venue.

Many organizations endorse the project...our peace center, the California Horticultural Therapy Association, Gather the Women, our local jail, etc...

The 'seed of life' garden plan is distributed internationally with seed money to start the gardens.

Where the garden has been created and maintained by locals, temporary housing units are provided.

Participants are educated regarding the process and criteria for growing the gardens into villages.

A globally endorsed effective process for creating sustainable communities is in place and easy to replicate.
What was the defining moment that led you to this innovation?
At a bioneers conference, I saw a poster with the same pattern as the garden..."that's the 'seed of life', Honey" she said. I realized that the concentric rings contained everything needed to live and that the garden could grow into a town.

I am a small town gardener who happened into this by way of caring, asking for help, and being unable to keep my mouth shut.
