Innovation

What is your signature innovation, your new idea, in one sentence?

I let the poor from everywhere dance on a canvas their cultural dance & sell it to the rich who lost their zest for life

Describe your innovation. What makes your idea unique and different than others doing work in the field?

"Salto ergo sum" is a project which was inspired by the negative perception of society, which comprises materialistic, timeless, joyless and unsatisfied people. The poor in this world often have a pleasure of life which our monotone society misses. With this project and through my work I want to help the poor with the proceeds of the artworks and at the same time inject our society with some colour and life. The artwork should remind the viewer of the essential values in life through the magic of dance and movement. And because there is a diversity of dances & cultures in the world it's possible to produce more than just a few artworks and find more than one owner who helps himself remind what is important in life and helps at the same time maybe a whole poor valley somewhere in the world.
The idea is unique because it does give both sides a balance. Poor and rich can help each other both sided.

What are the existing barriers, the biggest problem, your innovation is hoping to address/change?

I hope this project will fight against poverty and neediness in the whole world increase awareness of it in the rich, bulid bridges between poor and rich and wins lot's of participants through it's uniqueness.
Also a friend (Jorge Gonzalez)gave me a great idea that not only the money could help the poor but also an art therapist could help children and people while they are dancing on the canvas through the dance itself, which allows to express themselves. Thanks Jorge ;)

Delivery Model: How do you implement your innovation and apply it to the challenge/problem you are addressing?

I wish this project can change the minds of peolpe who are willing to spend a lot money for senseless things which at the end don't make them happy.

How do you plan to grow your innovation?

With the adequate budget, which I can earn through my business I would start travelling the whole world and produce and collect the artworks from each country I tavel to. Each artwork will help the one or the other village if I can sell it as soon as possible. Selling the artwork through an auction than get money through a donation will hopefully increase the degree of popularity, and therefore the worth of the artwork, and therefore the help for the dancers. Hopefully I will be able to travel a lot as far as this project get it's own drive. Maybe through a website which I am designing and buliding up by now I will get more participants over the whole world who can help to grow this project.
By time it would be a good idea to plan an exhibition with the actuall non sold artworks and photography and films of the sold artworks, to raise the awareness level of this project again.

Impact

Provide one sentence describing your impact/intended impact.

To make all the people out there realise what real quality of life is, and that helping others through this project can help yourself.

What impact has your innovation had to date/or what is your intended impact? Exactly who are the beneficiaries?

Until now the only impact this project had was me raising the awareness of my friends, family and students I worked with. The next impact is on myself, because the more I talked about this project I inspired people by this project which inspired me back and I so I finally got here. This is just the beginning and hopefully I will inspire all other participants here, because I can imagine interesting cooperative projects with the others.

The Story

What is the origin of this innovation? Tell us your story.

Salto Ergo Sum is my life project and got luckily a University project which contains a series of 6 canvases that represent six different dances. Each piece was made from the footprints and body prints of different dancers. Unfortunately I wasn't able to travel to different countries for this project so I started with dancers around the University to give that project a face. Each artwork was made from a 2m x 1.6m sheet of canvas.Finger-paint was used which the dancers dipped their feet into before dancing on the canvas. This meant that as an artist I was using a living brush that could move and paint in its own personal style. This process was documented in a photo studio, through the use of photography and film. It's all about my impressions, expressions, feelings, thoughts, pleasures and sorrows gained through the art of dance.Life quality and love of life are among the most important things in my world and this artwork is all about sharing and infecting people with that passion.Fundamentally, I was inspired for this project by my negative perception of society, which comprises materialistic, timeless, joyless and unsatisfied people.I see this society as being monotone and wanted to inject some colour and life into it with my work. The artwork should remind the viewer of the essential values in life through the magic of dance and movement. The work serves as a record and signature of the dancer and could be said to represent a convergence of two art forms, painting and dance.

Please provide a personal bio. Note this may be used in Changemakers marketing material.

I was born in Iran,Shiraz and when I was 3 years old we moved to Germany. In Düsseldorf I grew up,went to school&University in Cologne all surrounded by wealth.I worked in an advertising agency for a year where I experienced the false world & then moved to Bradford (UK) where I graduated in Creative Media and Technologies. Now I'm back in Germany and started my own business to be able to finance and continue my life project "Salto ergo sum" which makes me happy.

How did you hear about this contest and what is your main incentive to participate? (this is confidential)

Jorge Gonzalez, a friend of mine who was inspired by this project, thought this could be a first step to let this project grow.
Natalia Salchow, a good friend of mine creates for me an atmosphere and feel of a life loving person and is everyday a great inspiration to me. Her passion and enthusiasm for life, which comes from her Brazilian background, formed the foundation for this body of work. I want to thank her and all the people who remind us everyday of how blessed we are and that we should enjoy everyday. She is responsible for me wanting to start this project in Brazil or somewhere else in South America with streetkids from a valley and hopefully help their village with the proceeds of that artwork. My main incentive is to get feedback and get inspired by other participants ahd Hopefully inspire other, too.
