What is your idea? What makes it innovative? Why is it important?

I am creating a website to discuss social, political and economic issues in Nigeria to enable public participation influence leadership and develop a sense of belonging and patriotism in the Nigerian young persons.

Will you launch your idea as a business or non-profit?

Non-profit

Country your work focuses on

Nigeria

What will be the impact of your idea?

Nigerian young persons will have the chance to lend their voices to national issues.Nigerian Ministers will be made aware of this site so they can feel the pulse of the Nigerian youth. Nigerian young persons can showcase their talents and advertise their products among their peers.

Who will help you develop your idea? Why are you the one to make this happen?

Ihave employed an IT expert to construct the site for me.I am undertaking this task due to the leadership problems in Nigeria and the apathy on the part of Nigerian young persons some of who have been wrongly orientated

How much will it cost to launch your idea? (This can be an estimate)

I need approximately 1,000USD

Thanks a lot for your comment. Most successful projects start small and have a small sphere of influence initially. Having learnt lessons and gotten inputs from various stakeholders, you scale up and advance with surer steps. The Nigerian project can be replicated in other nations to foster social unity and enhance socio-economic participation and the sense of nationhood among young persons. The concept of global village ensures that we learn together to make our world a better place.

Nigerian young persons always have vibrant social discourse rich in humour. They refer to Nigeria as Naija and the appelation has stuck in the whole African region.
Thanks so much AB for your sustained interest.

social dialogue often gives rise to social cohesion and social change. Nigerian young persons need to be given a voice. They need effective participation in social political processes in Nigeria. It is time too, that the youth start to appreciate one another's potentials. I am excited about this!

It's important to make the world a smaller place. Populationspeak!
Word of Mouth Begins Sharing (WoMBS), giving birth
to new conversations & new understandings
to those who do not hide but seek.
We are all changing...
We are earthlings.
WE®ONE...
Community is communication. As the appellation stuck, for Naija,
so too will the effect of what we're hoping to accomplish here in this
"WE" MEdia, Challenge. Right now, all our minds are united over this cause,

"To inspire a BETTER WORLD using MEdia"...

and we are doing just that as we continue to focus on this TRUTH.
We all agree, that MEdia, MYday according to the TV/WEB media has not been fun or for us, focused. Just because i want to know what else is happening in the rest of the world, doesn't mean i want to hear it in a not 'sow' positive light?

Humor is the elixir of long life. That makes Nigeria a 'hub of change' or at least the region you're referring too. We hope, with all the entries, we 'can sustain' the discussion (into action) with you & Naija Youth Speak. Please do not hesitate to email us. If not before the 3rd keep a look out for us, overhead, in LEO. We're changemakers for life.

Peace~!

That will be an important website. It is very important to use a very popular culture like the internet to reorientate Nigerian youths about their local popular culture and showpiece their talents and other abilities. I think the website will help to standardize our national identity with youths who are currently missing it and mixing it up with foreign identities. it is like a chaos out there with different groups of Nigerian youths identifying with different foreign cultures most of which were brought in by foreign media outlets. A national youth identity will help youths participate in national development, and help them to think inward to help themselvs too. Naija YouthSpeak will give a forum for youths to discuss their ideas and views towards the future of the nation. it can also be rallying point to mobilise them for national duties etc. this website will really fill a vacuum. Most youths are visiting foreign websites for popular culture. Naija Youth Speak will be a link to hitherto unknown Nigerian websites promoting youth popular culture.

I am sorry, but as a Nigerian who has participated in a number of Nigerian forums that try to accomplish this, I have to ask how will you keep this site on track...and not let it become another social networking site? How will you make this site relevent to what is going on in the country and will you be encouraging the youth to put positive, nonviolent action behind their words? I see this working only if it is used to organize the youth ( that is a incubator for grassroot activism).
