What will be the impact of your idea?

This dynamic multimedia outreach and educational project will be viewed by municipalities, social entrepreneurs, cultural organizations and institutes of learning across America to inspire the adoption of Circle of Care’s community design model and civic engagement. This inspiring project will include video footage of the program in action as the backdrop for Circle of Care Founder/Director Joan Raderman singing with choir to inspire civic engagement. The initial reaction of people hearing the song is that it could easily become the National Anthem for Civic Engagement, sending a powerful and creatively inspired message to share with all of “the power of one” and what is possible through community partnership to build thriving communities where we all live and age well.

Who will help you develop your idea? Why are you the one to make this happen?

The music has been composed by Joan Raderman, Circle of Care founder. The video footage will be done by a Boulder-based documentary filmmaker, with additional musical support by award-winning music director and composer, Bill Douglas. As Circle of Care Founder/Community Developer and an Ashoka Affiliate Fellow, Joan Raderman is passionate about building livable communities for older adults, people with disabilities, and in turn improving the lives of people of all ages. She is dedicated to creating communities where all people grow, live, thrive and age well with barrier free access to life enhancing resources that give meaning and purpose regardless of economic, mobility, physical or cognitive challenges. Joan is a social entrepreneur and a singer/songwriter who envisions the power of music and media to inspire, motivate, open hearts and break down barriers and inspire change.
