No

Impact

What impact have you had?

The technology is well developed. The machinery is ready, enough knowledge is accumulated on the crops husbandry issues, good knowledge is available on the uses of the refined flours. The refined flours have been used in many demostrations already.

Problem

The problem that our project is addresing is the lack of appropriate food and nutrition that thousands of school children are facing in many rural areas of the country. It is wellknown that any deficiencies in food and nutrition in the first ten years will create deficiencies in the normal intelectual and physical development of the person.

Actions

We are presenting our project to many organizations, public and private, to try to convince them to implement this strategy in their regions.

Results

We expect to have at least one region in 2010,fully convinced of the potential that this strategy has to promote a sustainable effort to improve the nutrition and food security aspects of the school children population in the most marginal rural areas

What will it take for your project to be successful over the next three years? Please address each year separately, if possible.

If we have at least one region adopting the strategy in 2010,we can expect that in 2011 we would have increased the number of regions adopting the project to at least 10 sites and in 2011,the project would have expanded to a second country in the Latinoamerican and Caribbean region

What would prevent your project from being a success?

The lack of interest on the idea from institutions, public and private,in our country

How many people will your project serve annually?

101‐1000

What is the average monthly household income in your target community, in US Dollars?

$50 - 100

Does your project seek to have an impact on public policy?

Yes
