Your project seems sustainable, in that it doesn't need a lit of cash infusion once the seeds are purchased. However, I would like to know more about specific ways of recruiting people to the project. How will you get the word out? Also, community-based solutions are successful when there is a platform for sharing information and 'best practices' among the program participants. I would like to know more about how you will engage the participants regularly as the program evolves to hear about others' experiences and be able to learn from them. How will you develop project leaders with know-how? Also, where will the seeds come from? How will you source the netting and other supplies needed?
Hi,
As a Communication specialist myself, i will use my skill to engage unemployed people especially women within our area. Word of mouth on the beginning and they will in turn inform others which may increase participation.
Fortunately there are a number of unemployed women around are area who are not having much to do during the day, this is an opportunity to tap on and most of these women originally comes from the rural areas in South africa whose spouses are working.
These are the people whom i will approach to get involved in these projects. One does not need any educational qualification to understand basic agricultural skills. As the project progresses, this will provide opportunity to create a forum or body to represent the peolple.
