This was a year long trial that compared complimentary feeding with these two supplements beginning at age 6 months. Children assigned to fortified nut-spread were assigned to two different quantities of supplementation. There were no significant differences in weight gain over the course of the study, but the fortified spread group had a much lower rate of severe stunting.
