A wide array of funders have offered hundreds of thousands of dollars of cash prizes here—plus in-kind prizes—to accelerate the growth of innovative solutions. They are available to projects at all stages, from beginning to well-established, to help you reach the next level of success. American Express Emerging Innovators

Prize: 45 entrepreneurs will be selected into American Express Emerging Innovators Boot Camps in New York City, Mexico City and Toronto.

Deadline: March 8, 2013

Serve2Gether Consulting

Prize: 10 innovators will receive 8 weeks of pro-bono consulting support from American Express executives and the opportunity to compete for one of four seed grants between $5,000-10,000.

Deadline: March 31, 2013

Aberdare Ventures

Prize: $10,000 awarded to an innovation that is focused on nutrition or food access in the United States.

Villgro

Prize: One innovator will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize.

Solar Outdoor Lighting

Prize: $20,000 in solar lighting from Solar Outdoor Lighting (including all shipping costs) awarded to one or more innovators.

Flow Funding

Prize: $10,000 awarded to two or more innovators

TechChange - Amani Institute

Prize: Three innovators receive a full scholarship for the first-ever online certificate course on the role of technology in social entrepreneurship “Technology, Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship.” Each scholarship is worth $495. An additional three innovators received the reduced price of $445 for the course (a 10% discount).

 

Mosaic Consulting

Prize: 12 sessions of executive coaching spanning 6 months, awarded to 1 innovator, and valued at $4,200.

BC Ideas

Prize: Projects creating impact in British Columbia win more than $250,000 in funding.

G2012 Mexico Financial Inclusion

Prize: The top solution wins the grand prize of US$100,000.

The Power of Small

Prize: Four US$10,000 cash prizes in unrestricted funding. A technology donation to optimize performance and scale operations from SAP. The opportunity to discuss your solution at the SAP SAPPHIRE NOW Conference in Madrid, Spain from November 13-15, 2012.

Intel

Prize: Three winners receive $10,000 in unrestricted funding to boost their project. This competition was open to solutions from around the world, with special consideration for innovations developed for women by women aged 18 to 34.

Jeremy Rogers

Prize: $10,000 in prizes.

Investors' Circle

Prize: Four innovators were selected to pitch Investors Circle member investors during a virtual venture fair (a $200 value). The selected innovators received support in developing their pitch.

Winners: Billy Parish, founder and president of Solar Mosaic, and Sanjay Rajan, chief officer of SLOWCOLOR

Innovative Secondary Education for Skills Enhancement

Prize: Two prizes of $1,000 each, one for the Africa region and one for the Asia region, and two runner-up prizes of $500, one for each region.

Action For India

Prize: One of five cash prizes of INR 5L, and a bundle of free services including: hiring/employee assessment services from Aspiring Minds; mentoring for Internet strategy from Bharat Matrimony; financial structuring services from Enarr Capital; and one full-time intern for one year from IDEX Fellows.

Leaders in Action

Prize: 10 innovators received a 6-month executive coaching program (12 virtual sessions) that expands their leadership effectiveness. One group dedicated to 5 innovators working in Health in Africa or Asia and the other to 5 innovators working in Green Technology in the United States.

Winners: Yuwa: Kicking It New School, Improving the Quality and Relevance of Middle School in Senegal, IT Training for Youth with Disabilities, and Multi-Skill Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship Development as Part of Secondary Education.

Ben & Jerry's

Prize: €55,000 in prizes

Winners: Five winners listed here.

Mattel

Prize: Two top winners received one prize of $10,000 each, and a third-place winner received a $5,000 prize. Winning entrants had the chance to be featured in a live online chat hosted by Mattel’s “Dr. of Play,” Dr. Michael Shore.

Prize: One $10,000 prize and four $5,000 prizes awarded in the form of DonorsChoose.org charitable credits that can be retrieved on the DonorsChoose.org site.
