The Story
What was the defining moment that led you to this innovation?
The vast increase of homeless children and widows in Uganda due to HIV/AIDS leading to more land loss and child abuse of which fell a victim in my teenage years has been the drive. To make sure that the ruthless acts of the powerfull and relatives grabing land from the weak ended with me.
Tell us about the social innovator—the person—behind this idea.
Mr Ron Paul Nsubuga is the founder of Tender Mercies Outreach Foundation and organization reaching 1200 children and women whose lives have been ravaged by war and disease. His mission was birthed after loosing his father at avery early stage and raised by a single mother who also, passed away in his teenage years and found himself homeless after being driven out of their home and land by their relatives. Confronted with the vivid reality of raising eightsiblings, and the most tumultuous teenage years, responsibility developed him into a person who made constructive choices that not only liberated him but everyone around him. In 2000, he began an extensive travel around the world on HIV/AIDS awareness and being a confidant of AIDS patients taking their lastbreath. From his travel, he come across many orphaned children and widows made homeless in Uganda because they were chased out of their land something he experienced him self and vowed to make sure it doesnt happen to other innocent people.
