Indonesian Future Leaders (IFL) is a youth led non-profit organization (NGO) concerning on youth empowerment for social changes based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is established to empower youth as Indonesia's next leaders generation as a form of contribution for community and the country to solve various current and future problems. It was initiated by five 17-year-old students in 2009 who believe that developing a country is not only the obligation of the government but also the obligation of all people of the country including youth.
It’s established with a vision to build and sharpen competence, skills, and awareness of Indonesian youths (aged 15-24) which in accordance with their passion and skill, and to make them as the source of inspiration for their society. How it achieves its vision is through four missions which are to initiate programs which empower Indonesian youths as well as the staffs itself; concretely act to build the society and involve youths as the frontline of the activities; share any knowledge, contribute to the society, or providing both material or non-material resources for the community development; and inspire more people especially youths in order to make a spillover effect for them to create similar activities in their own society.

Indonesian Future Leaders conducts its programs and projects based on its three pillars of actions, which are:
1. Capacity Building
Our capacity building projects are subjected for our staffs, volunteers, members, as well as other Indonesian youth in general. The capacity building aims to seek individual passion, create social consciousness, and to generate them to create social venture which is in accordance with their passion, skill, and social issue that they concern about. Practically, we come to schools, universities, held seminars, workshops, held series of competitions, etc. Aside from trainings, we also provide and disseminate any information regarding external conferences both national and international. The latest external conference that we involved in is UNEP TUNZA international children and youth conference in Bandung. By two years, we have educated more than 15.000 students.
2. Community Development Projects
We conducted and developed various community development projects that touch the problems at the grass root level on various issues, including education, environment, gender equality, etc. One of them is ChildrenBehindUs – a platform for educating underprivileged children in English, Art, and Character Building, where IFL conducted a Saturday-School for elementary students which do not have sufficient access to school. Together with our partner, we build the school from woods. We create the syllabus, teach them English, Arts, etc., and help them in preparing their study for the school. The school is now not only used for education but also for the society’s interest when they have any events. This community service is now already duplicated by our chapters in Bandung and Bulukumba, as well as youth group in Malaysia.
3. Advocacy and promotion on youth-related issues.
We do believe that only with a synergy with other stakeholders, development and improvement can be achieved. Therefore, we try to make sure that government, academician, organizations listen to young people’s voices in decision making process. We held regular dialogue and hearing with leaders and parliaments, held public dialogue, that involve prominent figures, including Vice President, Head of House of Representatives, Ministers, etc. Beside that, we held the first ever Youth Parliament Indonesia as the platform of politics and democracy education to Indonesian youth. More, we also raise awareness and promote youth voices through by maximizing the power of internet. Our website is created to accommodate brilliant and inspiring ideas from any Indonesian youths in a form of article. Selected articles will be posted in our website and can be read by all youth in the world. We have bi-monthly newsletter which reports our latest programs and gives any information about any opportunities for youth (i.e. scholarship, student expo, conference, or training). We also report it through social media and website.
In creating our programs, we never limit youths from gender basis, religion and ethnical, economical or educational background. We welcome any youths with any background who posse willingness to change their society to be better. Almost all of our programs are free of charge to make sure that youths from low economical income can contribute actively in our programs. In disseminating our information, we have tried our best to reach regions in Indonesia as well as rural areas. However, we are still relying on internet access rather than any other measures since we have not had enough budgets to reach or visit them directly. But in particular occasion, we mobilized volunteers on our programs to reach them.
