Oceans Project Georgia is a registered NGO with a focus on environmental education and education for all. Through our online classroom, we'll provide a range of subjects linked to two exciting expeditions, across the Pacific Ocean in 2014 and the never yet reached Arctic fourth North Pole, better known as the 'Northern Pole of Inaccessibility'. Oceans Project Georgia are looking for 300 educational partners, from anywhere in the world, to invest £3025 and to nominate their favourite school, orphanage or youth organisation to receive our educational package, tablet computers and materials between 1st September 2013 and 31st December 2015. Problema

Many of the world's young people have little access to education, books, internet, or foreigners, yet education and experience is so necessary if we are to reduce the level of plastic pollution in our oceans. The former Soviet Republic of Georgia is one such country, listed as one of the 34 biodiversity hotspots in the world, but with developing infrastructure and waste left in areas of beauty or thrown into rivers to simply wash away, with no thought of the consequences on the world's oceans, food chain, and those who live around our shores.

Solução

Our solution is very simple, cost effective, environmentally friendly, and most of all, makes learning fun. In 2014, four teachers who met in Georgia will row over 7200 nautical miles across the Pacific Ocean. Our aim is to be the eyes and ears of the young people we met in Georgia, as well as other countries in the world. This is the first of two expeditions, and our solution is to deliver lessons, online, free of charge to any young person anywhere. We are raising funds through the sale of educational partnerships, and these will include the donation of tablet computers, solar chargers, speakers, and a projector for the recipient schools, orphanages, and youth organisations who wish to be a part of our project. The recipients will benefit from lessons live from our 23foot rowing boat, 3D film footage, webcam, updates, and a computer app, school visit, and educational materials. More about the partnerships here: http://howtocrossanocean.wordpress.com/educational-partnerships/

Exemplo

Its very simple. We bring the outside world to young people living in remote or marginalised locations via our online classroom, providing lessons now and for the future, free of charge, no matter what country or what background they are from. We'll invite guest speakers and cover British National Curriculum topics.

Ofertas e demandas

Our market is young people between 4th and 12th grade as our 'Oceans Ambassadors' and education recipients, with our educational partners as businesses, philanthropists, and armchair adventurers, or people wishing to give something back to their community.
