All the best, The Changemakers Team
“This is an innovative initiative and fights stigma extremely well. I really like how it works within the framework of the culture and introduces Western practices as well. It’s a beautiful blending.”
“This notion of linking people to a population that is in need is the direction in which we need to head, and the care with which they’ve designed this process indicates that they will be quite successful. I’m interested in learning more about why this initiative has not been integrated into the general ward. Where are the links for the hospitals?”
“I found this initiative to be inspiring. The goal of a program like this that integrates traditional healing and evidence of psychiatry allows for respect for the culture to be integrated with what can be helpful for society. It’s important to show members of society that modern medicine is not a menace. This is a great way to begin to decrease stigma.”

This is a very good article Sir, and your plans for the future seems nobel and will be successful. I have come across 5 people who are living with schizophrenia in the district where I practice. Sir your hard work has paid off and these people are leading a fruitful life for themselves as well as for the community. The rehabilitation of substance abuser among Bhutanese Youth headed by Sir and Dr. Nirola is also highly appreciated. Sir can always count on my help and support(though it may be limited due to my limited qualification). Please Keep up the Good Work!
Your's sincerely,
Dr. Norbu Wangchuk,
General Duty Medical Officer,
Central Regional Referral Hospital,
Gelephu, Bhutan.
