In Russia the concept of e-government, e-education, distant employment are actively developing and have high-priority on the federal government level. However many Russian woman in need are unable to use these opportunities due to computer illiteracy. As statistics in Russia show every 3rd women exposed to home violence, more than 30% are single mothers, a typical women’s income is less than 70% of a man’s salary in Russia. Our pilot project showed that underserved woman learned PC basics can greatly improve their lives.
Problems our project addresses:
•Restricted or limited access for women to education, seeking job opportunities, e-government services
•Social isolation of woman unable to use the Internet in modern digital world
•“Closed door” to local community infrastructure

Organizing PC basics course for woman in need.
The course includes:
• Getting familiar with PC and the Internet;
• Overview and signing up in social networks, useful Internet resources (job seeking, Edu, e-government, healthcare );
• Psychological trainings to help overcome difficult life circumstances;
• “How to find a good job” training
• Post-graduation online support through social networks with the help of volunteers.

Let's walk through a project process. The algorithm is following:
1. Program Overview Announcement (the channels: Social protection department, media);
2. Course enrollment (application are accepted by Social protection department and Tertius);
3. Class distribution (Admins for groups, volunteers responsibilities);
4. Learning (40 academic hours on PC skills, 40 academic hours on psychological and HR trainings);
5. Final test (to identify the effectiveness);
6. Graduation party;
7. Online support via social networks;
8. Success story collecting and distribution.
According to this model the main resources we need :
1. Volunteers: Intel Corp. volunteers provide high-professional support helping to hold the classes. Tertius and Intel entered into an agreement of intent on corporte voluntereesm;
2. Location: Ministry of Education of Nizhny Novgorod as a partner of the project provide location for classes;
3. Equipment: we have very old slow PCs required replacing;
4. Info coverage: department of Social protection in Nizhny Novgorod distributes the info among woman in need.

Trying to solve such an acute social problem we do not consider people or orgs driving similar initiatives as competitors, we see them as prospective partners. We strongly believe that in order to get the results the cooperation of business, society and government is required.
So far we managed to cooperate with valuable partner - Intel corp. - driving "She Will: be a power for change" and Corporate Volunteering (Intel Involved) programs.
Also, Ministry of Education and Social Protection Department in Nizhny Novgorod help us greatly. They work on Ladies Online project as part of federal program "Digital citizen".

We started to hold the classes year ago. Since then we have (1) trained 30 woman in need, our project got (2) excellent public awareness of woman's issues. Social protection department got about 100 new applications for the classes since the end of the last course.
Keeping in touch with our graduates we got stories of success. Some woman changed their life considerably due to our classes.

Qual é a sua expectativa de impacto para os próximos 1 - 3 anos?
* Attracting more attention to woman's issues by distributing the info about our project, success stories, attracting more volunteers;
* Providing an opportunity to improve the lives for much more woman in need
(increase the number of participants to 50 for the first year, to 70 for the second year and to 110 for the 3d year);
* Provide more training options for woman (already working on curricula with Ministry of Education in Nizhny Novgorod);
* Develop our Alumni club (increase number of active participants to 50);

Intel Corporation hold a roundtable on Girls and Woman issues in modern global economy. There were a lot of NGOs guests, we identified the weak spot in supporting woman today.
