The community of Ogwelai cell, in Olegei village , Dakabella parish Arapai sub county Soroti District in Eastern Uganda East Africa Organized themselves in a group known as Ogwelai Community initiative for Rural development (OCIRUD). The community of Ogwelai is recovering from long episodes of armed conflict and cattle rustling that cumulatively pauperized the community. Their resources and livelihood were destroyed through and they have to start from scratch. The main purpose of the group is to energize households in order to overcome poverty through engaging in commercial agriculture. It is against this background that beekeeping and improved beehive production project was conceived and it will especially target the women and youth in the age bracket of 16-30 years both on and out of school.
