FPVS brings natural gas lines to poor neighborhoods by providing micro-loans for the construction costs to local residents. This project is supported by a trust fund partly financed by the World Bank. These loans are repaid from the savings generated by switching to natural gas. The program has helped around 3600 families gain access to natural gas and realize significant savings. Reductions in fuel costs has increased the real incomes of residents by 7%. Health has also improved by decreasing respiratory illnesses.
