Sexual violence is out of control in many conflict areas. The woman is a target for sexual purposes or humiliation of the opponent. She is deported to satisfy the needs of cattle rapists for several weeks. She went out with innumerable physical and moral damage. When back in town, she is abandoned by the company or its relatives. She is suffering from several infections including HIV but she has no support. She can not even bring charges against rapists because she has no money to hire a lawyer to plead her case. That woman who could be our mother, sister or our daughter remains without protection. Why volunteer lawyers can not stand up to support the mother who has lost everything to the root.
That is why the idea of volunteer lawyers.
This idea is new. Contrary to the human right’s declarations (without any major operates changes on violence against women), VOLA act first and then condemn. It is a form of socialization of the Women’s defense. VOLA will be the first women speaker of who are neglected in their rights. With VOLA, even the poorest woman receives a fair court case.

It's a good idea, as the project thrashes about impunity for rapists. However, I have a question.
In most countries, the leaders implicated in these abuses are out of reach because they occupy high positions in governments and armies. How will you proceed in these cases.

Thank you Fanny.
I understand what you want to talk about especially when according to the situation in the DRC. Certainly for a first time it will be difficult to bring to court these personalities. However, I assure you, justice is always fair. It take longer and longer but, it leads to its purposes. Take the example of dictators who have committed crimes during their reign. They were overtaken by their past and been judged, even actual national leaders covered by diplomatic immunity. I am talking about the current Sudan President

Bonjour Rene
