What makes your idea unique?
Soon paying through mobile phones or sending money overseas through mobile phones won't be something new, but it will be something used daily in the future, well what does this have to do with LIKELEMBA? LIKELEMBA was a way to help people in financial difficulty or in poverty, through solidarity the person could start a little business with the huge amount of money, but now with the crisis and the expensive things it is been harder and harder for people to use LIKELEMBA so that they can help each other, because everybody is in the same situation: no job, poverty, kids to feed, etc.....But if they can do LIKELEMBA with somebody overseas: a friend or a family member who has a job and is also able to participate they can send each other the money in a couple of minutes. The people in Africa will be able to start a a little business or actually finally buy the material she wanted to start her business. They will be able to do this without lending money but through cooperation and solidarity.
The people overseas will be able to help people in Sub-Saharan Africa by working together in an easy way because the African women living overseas most of the times have more stable jobs and more income than somebody in Africa, when somebody in Africa looses his or her job the person has no help it all, he or she can only count on herself or himself to find something sustainable to survive. This project encourages people to show solidarity towards others. This will be a different approach, it is a new concept and because of mobile phones and internet,it will be easier to spread the news about this project. It will also push people to learn more about technology.
My idea is unique because we already saw the consequences "loans of banks" brought to us and the economical crisis we ar in. LI-WI-BO will be the way to be able to do great things with other people's money without having to do a loan or pay intrest for years, this will help a lot of poor people in the world.

Tell us about the social impact of your innovation. Please include both numbers and stories as evidence of this impact
This project will be able to help a lot of people who don't have any income and don't have the money to start a business or to pay for school. Just imagine if a young woman in Africa wants to have an ICT training and she has to pay 1000$, but she only earns 200$ a month, she won't be able to pay this. If she does LIKELEMBA with four other women it can help her to pay for school and be left with enough money for herself. Another woman wants to start a business, she wants to sell hot dogs and beer at night ( this is a business with a lot of success in Sub-Saharan Africa but she doesn't have the capital to start this business, well with the help of LIKELEMBA she wiil be able to start her business and the best part is she will make profit that will be only for her and she won't have to get a credit for that because she never loaned any money since everyone will get the same thing every month. Due to loans from banks that we couldn't pay people lost a lot of things: houses, jobs, etc..... it led to frustration and depression. Now with LI-WI-BO people will be able to achieve their dreams or have at least a financial support. They won't have to wory about intrests or paying back during years.
Problem: Describe the primary problem(s) that your innovation is addressing
It's helping people economically by financing their needs: they will learn how to work with new technology, it will help making the lives of people easier by finding a solution to eliminate what is stopping them to make progress. It will help people without having to get credit from a bank or lend money from someone which results many times into a fight in Africa.
Actions: Describe the steps that you are taking to make your innovation a success. What might prevent that success?
Spreading the word about this project and let as many personsknow about it so that they can work together and help each other even know they might live in different countries or continents. What can prevent this project is people overseas not wanting to collaborate on this project.
Results: Describe the expected results of these actions over the next three years. Please address each year separately, if possible
The first year we will be focusing on advertising LI-WI-BO as much as we can by talking to people, going to conferences to talk about it and post information about it on different forums. When we will se that enough people know about it we will go to the next stage. The second year we will lauch the website and we will explain as much as possible how the website works and motivate people to spread the news. ELEMBA WITHOUT BORDERS will provide you with the information of people who want to participate and the mobile numbers of the persons, then 5 to 6 persons wil be registered as a group and will have a code that only they can use, each month they will send a certain amount of money to the person's who's turn it is to receive the amount. The company will verify if every member of the group sent the amount of money to the right person and the circle will continue.....
By the third year the website should be known worldwide and members will be very familiarized with the way it works.
How many people will your project serve annually?
> 10.000

Does your innovation seek to have an impact on public policy?
Sim
If your innovation seeks to impact public policy, how?
The goal of creating this project is to help the most people as possible out of poverty adn help them through the difficult conditions they are going through.
The secret of the success of Likelemba is its simpleness and formula whereby a lot of small amounts, that every member can easily spare, make one big prize. The winner has a fairly large amount with which he/she can do something extraordinary and, hopefully, break out of a financial circle of misery or life style in which he/she might be stuck.

Please tell us more about how partnerships could be critical to the success of your innovation
It will be better to work in partnership with a company such as: MX Payment platform who are starting with sending money or paying with a mobile phone overseas, they are focusing on Africa. By showing them this project, we might be able to work together and in this way the project will have more success faster.
We would like to learn more about how your initiative is financially supported. Please explain your business plan/revenue model
Revenue Model:
LI-WI-BO is a social networking website that provides financial aid to people by bringing them together and assist them in cooperating and supporting each other:
We will have revenues by:
- Direct advertising: Making advertising for existing companies as well as up-coming companies ( as well as upcoming african companies )
- Our services: Everytime a group sends money to the one who is entitled to receive it we will be entitled to 5% of the amount.
- Affiliate Marketing: Since we will be working together wit another company who will make possible that people send money with mobile phones, we will actually also be advertising their services so we will be entitled to take also a commission on the sale.
A História
What was the defining moment that led you to this innovation?
When I saw how women in my country are struggling to make it and even accepting to be in a relationship with married men just so that these men could take care of them, that gave me a reason to find ways to empower and help women to be able to take care of themselves.

Can you explain the revenue model for the organization? I really like how you combine traditional loan groups with the diaspora community through technology, but how are you planning on creating a sustainable funding model for the organization?
I updated it.
Your discussion in the entry really helps me understand your business model.
I have a new question, however - how would you manage the accountability of the recipient? In other words, if someone requested funds to start a small business, but then spends the money on entertainment or other irrelevant expenses, how is that dealt with? With traditional credit circles, the peer pressure of other participants prevents this; but with the added international/diaspora element, it seems a bit harder to enforce.
You are right, it will be indeed hard, but we will demand proof of the participants ( once in a while ) after a couple of months to show if they spent the money on what they said they would. But you are right, we won't be able to check everything and some might spend it on other things, which is why we will promote and offer free publicity to people who indeed spend the money on what they said they would and actually achieve something.
