I can vouch that this program is truly making a difference, to the people who need it most, in a place that is difficult to create and sustain long-term change. The program is locally-conceived and locally-run. Through the Farmer to Farmer Program volunteers like Myriam support Makouti's efforts, through capacity-building, to help the farmers improve their rabbit production and to become entrepreneurs. With more resources this innovative production system could be spread to help many more people generate food and income for their families.

This entrepreneurial program can also be adapted to other products produced by Makouti members such as honey, coffee, and Cacao.
The rabbit project can also be integrated with many other types of programs such as tilapia ponds (rabbit wastes are great tilapia food),Peanut plantations and other garden projects where the leaves and weeds can serve as rabbit food and the rabbit manure can enrich the soil,Nutrition programs especially for people recovering from sever malnutrition as rabbit is easily digestible, hypoallergenic, high in protien, low in cholesterol and palitable.
The important goal is increasing the income of the producers while providing valuable services and products by creating a sustainable integrated business network focused on evolutionary growth that will outlive us all.
