I would be very interested in collaborating with you - my project, Solar Sister, provides solar power for rural women - it would be a natural fit with your project to provide the power for the ICT equipment. There are some excellent low-energy demand computers that are designed to work with solar panels. Feel free to contact me at solarsister.org@gmail.com or take a look at www.solarsister.org

I love the concept and the partnership between the ICT training facility and the farm at large.

I think the packaging of the aggregated knowledge will be very valuable to academics, development experts and large development organizations and government ministries. I would love to learn more about what knowledge you expect to generate from the local context, and how you might scale that further?

Dear Denise, Catherine and Jon,

Thank you for your complements and advice. As a farm in a developing country would 78% of the population is rural we feel that reaching the rural to be movers of transformation will be a significant contribution to development. We want to reach every village in Uganda through a women group and youth group to be a showcase for development. ICT will connect the villages.

In our experience we have noted that the rural have a wealth of information e.g. on organic farming, herbal medicine, solving natural disasters, living at a minimum, rediting conditions, that never gets to be tested or spread to others. Sometimes this knowledge and skills are buried when these people die. IN addition some of these knowledge may have no scientifc basis and therefore need to be tested and corrected. Using our partnership with Universities this will also be an avenue for bringing practical knowledge to the academic institutions and vice versa. Our target is to reach each village begiing from district, to counties and parishes. Considering that we shall have webcasting we anticipate to reach many people and also get faciliators from wherever.

Katherine your idea is great and will go ahead to help us solve or greatest challenges of the destruction to the environment. We are looking forward to a concrete way of collaborating with you. Hopefully one day soon when have an orientation for the women physical or online you can give us more info of how we can make the best out of solar sisters to make the world a better place.

Thank you
