“I liked how this initiative is led by women and that the core of it really involves women. Water and farming is a big issue in this area and this approach is a much more efficient way to do it. Additionally, the partnerships coupled with the local capacity building is a really great way of maximizing impact and can realistically be sustained in the 44 villages that they are trying to reach out to.”
“I felt like the combination of the use of the technology, the results that they’ve got, and the expansion, shows great innovation and impact. I think solar power in Africa is the way to go! This initiative really responds to a need that women have around water transporting throughout the whole year. I just thought that it was all around a very good project.”
“Their efforts in establishing partnerships with international organizations, multinational and bilateral organizations will ensure that the idea will take root in some other institutions, and this leads to greater opportunities for success and sustainability. Working alongside other organizations might help to address any prohibitive cost issues as well.”
