Am a member of GREEN DOOR FAMILIES,my main interest is to create a self reliant community through irrigation farming of market gardening ,fruits and fish farming by constructing FLOOD WATER DAM , drilling of boreholes and rain harvesting
Being an agromist and a farmer,i know that simple farming techniques can change forever a community standing from poverty to being able once there is proper farming and marketing channels for the produce.I feel close to the people when teaching them good farming methodology through result demostrations and being a voice to be trusted by the community!
To see improved and reliable farming through irrigation farming of the people of Kwa DUDU in KILINDI District who at the moment practice subsistence farming and receive government handouts during drought periods.Most of the community live improvised lives due to poverty,cannot afford good seeds/fertilizers/good agronomical practices and sell their poor harvests at good prices.Through GREEN DOOR Families,most families will be taught Modern Farming technologies,market farming for the nearest towns,value addition in farming and FRUIT FARMING which will boost their LIVELIHOODS within a span of three-four years.
Am trained as an Agricultural Officer with a long exposure in Export farming and SEED Inspections for local and International Market in my Country KENYA.,am also the patron of a Women Group engaged in Income Generating Project at the border of Kenya AND Tanzania,the atron of the under privileged children of our church community particularly those living with AIDS
