Dan Roberts spent the latter half of his formative years growing up in Jakarta Indonesia. Upon graduation from the local international school, Jakarta International School, Dan returned to America to study Acting and Theater Arts and Roosevelt University's Chicago College Performing Arts. It was there that he was introduced to two art forms that would unknowingly(at the time) change his life.
The first of those two art forms was, Clown Theater. Inspired by a three person clown theater piece(500 Clown) featuring a professor from Dan's university, his understanding of theater and the impact it could make on an audience changed indefinitely. Dan quickly became enthusiastic about the world of Clown. At the same time, he was introduced to another pioneer the Chicago scene(Paul Miller), who was developing a small "Social Circus" outreach program for children growing up in inner city Chicago. Within a month of working for this organization, the guiding force behind Dan's path was changed once again. The idea of using circus as a social mobilizing tool was brilliant and the effects were everlasting.
