Hi Tennisbc,

You have a great organization. What I like is that socially sustainable in that you filter girls to other programs after completion in order to keep them active. Great community work and great entry, good luck!

Hi Ivana:
Thank you for the work you do in the community and thanks for sharing it with us.

In the US tennis is a very difficult sport to offer to the kids who can most benefit, as the equipment is expensive and land, in most cases, is at a premium and courts are not available. Im wondering who your partners are to help provide appropriate equipment and places for girls to play tennis.

Thanks again for applying and good luck in the compeition!

Hi Kathy,

Thank you very much for your comment.

HEAD sponsors all our equipment for the tennis camps, so there is absolutely no charge for the participants. We partner with Parks & recreation departments throughout the province who provide free court time.

We find that tennis is much cheaper to play than most sports since a begginer racquet is only $20 and balls are also very cheap. In the summertime, there are many public courts available for people to play for free. Winter is a little bit more challenging, since many communities don't have indoor courts. This is why we try to utilazi school gyms as much as we can. Foam balls and mini-nets are perfect for begginers.

Hi Ivana,

Have you ever wondered how you could expand the project without using the public courts? I reckon if it would be possible to develop a court "on-the-go" or a "court-in-a-box" and expand this social technology to developing countries.

I would like to congratulate your work and invite you to join the Women Win group.
