Congratulations on your entry. I am curious about the spectrum of the role your firm takes. Are you merely a transportation provider or do you help facilitate a relationship between businesses and recycling plants? Do you offer 'education' to the businesses to help them make recycling a core process?
Yes, ELISE is merely transporter and transformer (sort) of paper (the aim is to create new jobs for desabled and/or non qualified people.
But for that, ELISE has first to promote recycling in companies to open the market (10 to 20% only are recycling their papers today in France).
When a company adopts ELISE, ELISE leads education of their colaborators so that recycling produces maximum of paper.
With the monitoring of collected weights, it's also possible to give feed-back and to reinforce implication.
The main barrier is money.
To succeed in such business, it's necessary to be competitive in front of waste costs.
Economic model is based on :
- income from companies which give their paper to ELISE( less expensive than waste operator)
- income from sale of paper
- subventions or public helps (which are scarcer and scarcer, and difficult to get).
