Roots of Empathy

Roots of Empathy is an evidence-based classroom programme that has shown a dramatic effect in reducing levels of aggression among schoolchildren by raising social and emotional competence and increasing empathy. Developing emotional literacy, the ability to recognise and understand emotion in oneself and others, is at the core of Roots of Empathy. During the programme, schoolchildren are introduced to strategies for effectively recognising and responding to their emotions and the emotions of others.
