You might consider clarifying the role of the women's SHGs, it seems they are going to implement the company which addresses the waterlogging and salination challenges the community faces? Can you explain how they are involved?
Dear Jon: sorry for such a delayed reply. We are actually not very good in computer and we missed this discussion. This is our fault. However our work in continued.
You are absolutely right. The women members of the Self Help Groups (SHG) is the centre force of this whole programme. We developed this model with nearly 7 years of effort at grassroot. The women SHG members will be the bottom as well as tip of the pyramid.
They are currently taking up following activities:
BOP level:
Poverty mapping in the village – identifying the most needy people in the whole village
Geo-technical conformability analysis of Identified poorest poor women members of the society – further screening of the partners
Enabling of the whole process to the finally screened partners (already screened for third time)
Accessing of approval from selected partners to support other poor people as and when they are having the assets erected on their land
360 degree evaluation of the selected partners and their commitment to other poor people by all the women members of the village with a facilitation of the SHGs
Acceptance of the evaluation at whole village level (facilitated by the SHGs)
Training of the selected partners by the SHG members (SHG members have already been trained by us) for whole process – i.e. erection of the technology, water management, irrigation timing management, agro productivity increment, agro produce sale proceed accrual.
Tip of Pyramid level:
The SHG members are selecting the board members of the company
These board members are representing the whole SHGs in the company decision making
Post successful interventions of at least 2 years the SHG members are offered with “Franchise model” for expansion of the technology
Company comes with a seed capital for each “Franchise model” member.
The “Franchise model” itself echoes the company model and train another set of poor women to expand the whole process.
The knowledge is free flow for everyone – whereas training and internalization of the knowledge is to be for poorest poor women members of the society.
Within 2 years they are coming above poverty line and debt trap then they are given options to run their own company and expand the knowledge/skill/seed capital to other poorest poor women in the society in the same model as that of the company.
It implies exponential growth for every poorest poor women member of the society as well as it is entrusting Food Security for poor and emancipating a good no of poor people from debt trap.

Sorry for my also delayed response; and thanks for your very insightful post on the role of the SHGs. I hope you continue to visit http://changemakers.com/competitions to check for other competitions where you could enter your idea,
