Program Activities:
* Bring together students and parents in workshop settings to educate about college admission, financial aid and future educational planning.
* Through learning to use computers, students and parents both access important information, and learn to use computers that allow them to be tech savvy. They learn basic computer skills, how to navigate the world wide web, how to complete school research, etc.
* Use of the computer room at Highline Community College and Computer tutoring from volunteer teachers
Reason:
Most refugee and immigrants are new to technology. They have no computers at home and there is great need for youth and adults to learn computer skills so they can be competent in academics, employment, college applications, access to resources, communications and accessing important information.
