Slumcode uses video recorders(handycams) to get young ladies to record their businesses thru short clips and interviews, these we edit and are seeking microfinance partners who will have paid up adverts on the
DvDs and thus allow us share/distribute the content as weekly digital womens' business journal for free on CD, which they can:
1. Watch over and over on computer, church libraries or home dvd,
2. Learn from best practise,
3. Get information on grants/loans/financing products banks,microfinance or potential donors have to offer.
Reason:
This microfinance video project will not only nurture their journalism talents, but empower vulnerable young women to escape prostitution, alcohol, abusive marriages, dangerous practise e.g. Abortion and drug addiction. As they will both earn from fieldwork, learn media related skills and make sales.
