I am a Web-enablement guru who works for many local and global non-profit institutions to facilitate information dissemination and social networking to promote bottom up information sharing for consensus making.
Both the Albuquerque Plaza (where people gather to discuss local politics) and the Windsor (Ontario) Peace Fountain (where raw materials enter the rust belt) provide a strong sense of community that I wish were emulated in all communities.
I want us to feel primarily as world citizens before anything else and yet know the best route to making a better world is to provide leadership as a role model locally.
I continue to work as a Research Scientist who attempts to improve various virtual communities through quality visualization and computer-mediated communications. I work with the University of Washington as my research base. I teach at the Rhode Island School of Design and am technical director of The Ocean Project.
