Being a part of the women’s movement that changed me and as a feminist when I share my life, and work, along with others it demonstrates what individual and collective change achieve –it says something about risks and the possibilities. Personal stories lead a way to change. At another level taking action, creating reflection possibilities amongst the women, I along with my team enable articulation of choices and for women this is the beginning of change. I write and my writing too is about people who change, as it reaches people it is one small step towards taking the other steps that together bring change.
The railway track behind our house, the deeply furrowed sand surrounding our house. So it is the desert of Rajasthan that I feel connected to. The sun sinking slowly and then so swiftly in half and gone away, The baked terrace under my bare feet on a winter evening a reminder of dreams coming true
To let women speak in thier voices our love our desires and stuggles cheers!
What did you say my bio! I used to be only housewife until I heard the women’s movement on the streets, and stood out and stared. Then joined it. From then working through women’s groups and unions on the ground organizing and intervening on issues of women and human rights. Now more particularly involved with the rural tribal women in same sex relationships.
Thanks to the vision women gave me I learnt to find myself and write about us. I began writing . I co authoring a book on single women then on women's same sex relationships and labour issues and so on. I have documented stories of change processes of the women’s court in Gujarat.
