There's a beautiful lodge located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, called Moraine Lake Lodge. When I'm there, I feel more peaceful than anywhere else I've been. Nothing pulls or pushes me away from my thoughts, my hopes, my sense of purpose.
For the people around me to recognize their unity and the incredible value that they have in one another; I'm driven to demonstrate the inter-connectedness that we all have with one another.
For almost 20 years, I have been a professor of engineering at a small private university in the midwest. Ten years ago my life was changed by a visit I made to a poverty-stricken community in Mexico, and it was at this time that I began a passionate pursuit to help college students apply their talent and energy in humanitarian aid work. I am currently the advisor for Engineers Without Borders and coordinator for humanitarian projects for students.
