I am a changemaker in the works. Thus far my efforts have been small: serve as a role model for student athletes, lead community service activities, etc. I hope to ramp it up in the next few years so that I can truly and honestly deem myself a changemaker.
Tachikawa, Japan will always be my home away from home. I spent some of the best years of my life there and it is a wonderful city.
I want to see peace. Not only between people, although that is undoubtedly on the top of my list, but also with the Earth. I'm not a radical environmentalist nor do I believe that conflicts are 100% avoidable. I do believe however, that the current means of conflict like violence and mental hard are more destructive than any good that they can bring. People don't always need to agree, but they do need respect.
I'm currently a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa majoring in Economics and Asian studies with a focus on grassroots organization in Japan and China. My work and volunteer experience are somewhat limited, but I have created and executed community service projects during my time as a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout.
