I believe that one person can make a difference, my heroes are Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Muhammad Ali, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Lyndon B.Johnson, Marcus Garvey, Nelson Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah etc. These are individuals who against great odds made a difference in peoples lives. As a social entrepreneur I strongly believe I can make a difference in the lives of thousands of African-Canadian youth and those living in marginalized communities across Canada
I feel a fondness for a place called Carriacou, Grenadines Grenada, its truly a paradise, I also feel a connection to the continent of Africa.
I want to economically empower the African-Canadian community because after 400 years in Canada we do not even have an African-Canadian cultural centre or place we can call our own as a community. I want to create living wage jobs for African-Canadian youth both males and females. We have to provide an alternative to gang life and give hope to single mothers who are trapped in a public housing and welfare.
I have been working on AfriCana Village for the past two years, I have invested over 100K in cash and inkind work in this VISION. I eat it, sleep it and dream AfriCana Village every minute of the day. My professional background is in advertising and marketing. The past 10 years I have been selling, marketing Caribbean real estate primarily to Europeans and North Americans seeking to build their dream vacation home in the Caribbean.
