Head of a pro-women activist organization, focusing on migration, trafficking and legal rights of women. I have received ASHOKA Fellowship in recognition of work in community development, environment management and women's empowerment. I am the founder member of Association for Community Development-ACD. In 2001, I have received Anti Slavery International Award (ASI) for outstanding work against trafficking in women and children in Bangladesh. I also have received UN-HABITAT Regional Office for Asia and Pacific (ROAP) awards on ‘Gender and Rights-Responsive Sustainable Cities in Asia and the Pacific’ on March 7, 2008 as Individual Leadership Award for Innovation.
