Under the Palermo Protocol signed in Italy in December 2000, Trafficked persons ,especially women and girls are no longer viewed as criminals, but as victims of crime . ATO would like to reduce the demand in HT and assist victims in destination countries by encouraging effective, rehabilitation , capacity building ,Safe Return and Recovery Policy and Programs.

Ibiduni (Duni) Jones, Regional Director for Africa Ms Jones, a Sierra Leonean, dedicated her work through advocacy, fact-finding and information gathering .Document conditions of the child soldiers and ECOMOG through a video documentary, “The Aftermath of Sierra Leone War in 1998”, a powerful tool for drawing attention to the plight of child soldiers and displaced persons, The documentary aired on PBS in the United States and around the world for more than five years.
Worked with the Sierra Leone Hotel and Tourist Board, the Calidonian Hotel Management team as a training manager, opened two new hotels in Sierra Leone and Liberia. She worked for the Research Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Ibadan, Nigeria, IMF / World Bank and volunteered in refugees camps
She testified in the United States Congress held two-week exhibitions (250) on the Sierra Leone women and children crisis, The Children’s War to the Policy Makers,” in capital hill, Rayburn Building and the senate hall for a week , invited by the Commonwealth Foundation to exhibit Abuse at the Commonwealth Heads of State Conference in Durban, South Africa, The Canadian Government , Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS) and Ghana Government International Conference on War - Affected Children in Accra ,Ghana in 26 – 28 April 2000.
Her video collection footages with female teenage victim of sexual abuse was use by the Secretary General Kofie Annan opening speech at United Nations Children Summit in New York in 2002. An Amnesty International Spotlight recognition in 1999.including the United Nations consultative status and by the Accreditation Committee for the Economic Development on Sustainable Development .
The millennium development goal,The World Tourism Organization ,Regional Consultation for Africa Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism in 2002, The Ouagadougou Action Plan, signed by African Head of States in 28 November 2002 ,The EU/AU Rabat Action Plan Against Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration in July 2006 as a development issue , earned her the agenda to launch the African Tourism Organization Inc.now with an advocacy office in USA and ATO, International Center for Human Trafficking in the Secretariat in Banjul, The Gambia.Member of the HT coalition in Washington DC .
October 2005 The secretariat of the Nordic Baltic Force was invited by the African Tourism Organization to present their work and guirdlines which resulted in The Banjul communique and regional cooperation with Economic Community for West African States, in Abjua ,Nigeria and resulted in a partnership between ECOWAS / ATO
Finally, as an entrepreneur, she set up a designing studio for men and women and trained young people in professional tailoring as entrepreneurs in Ibadan, Nigeria during her eight years stay.
