Debby Hopkins is the Chief Innovation Officer at Citi, responsible for bringing together strategy, information technology, and research & development to drive cross-business, client-focused innovation across the company. She will work closely with Citi’s senior leadership team to create and direct methods to maximize internal creativity. Debby is also responsible for developing and leading Citi’s approach to creative, forward-looking collaboration with external constituencies, including current and prospective clients, venture capital firms, government agencies and academic institutions.

Debby also serves as a Managing Director and Senior Advisor in Citi Global Investment Banking where she will continue to support and advise Investment Banking clients. Previous positions at Citi included Chief Operations & Technology Officer, where she was responsible for leading a global organization in more than 100 countries, and Head of Corporate Strategy & Mergers and Acquisitions.

Her prior corporate experiences span several industries, including telecommunications, aerospace, automotive, and information technology. She has held two Chief Financial Officer roles, first at the Boeing Company and then Lucent Technologies. At General Motors, Debby was General Auditor and later Chief Financial Officer of General Motors Europe. She spent 13 years at Unisys in a variety of roles, including Corporate Controller and General Manager of Worldwide Information Services. She also worked at Ford Motor Company on the finance staff.

Debby has a B.S. in Accounting from Walsh College. She received an honorary doctorate from Westminster College. In 2000, she was named #2 on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women list. Debby served on the Board of Directors of Dupont from 2000 – 2005, and she was elected to the Board of Directors of Citibank, NA and Citicorp Holdings Inc. in 2005. She is Co-Chair of the Citi Women’s Initiative and on the Advisory Council of Riverwood Capital.
