I am not sure, how I can call myself a change maker yet. But I am sure, I am relentlessly on the course, to someday be responsible for something significant. After 7 years in the corporate world, I quit my job and traveled across India, seeing places, meeting people, learning things and forming ideas. Now I am building my social venture, a virtual thinktank, with accomplished individuals from diverse streams of knowledge - the idea is to harness the collective wisdom to:
1. Develop comprehensive understanding of the social problems. Social problems are often, functions of many random variables, each of which in turn is driven by its own agenda). Multi-disciplinary synthesis is essential and critical in understanding these problems.
2. To create sustainable solutions that ensure the most optimal impact and an efficient use of resources.
I believe this is necessary because, it is easier to find people with good intentions, than it is to find people with great ideas built on those intentions. In other words, in the social change value chain (Information, Inspiration, Intent, Idea, Investment, Implementation, Impact), the real roadblock is between an Intent and THE idea. The mission of my venture is to remove this bottleneck. Being called a change maker is not half as exciting as it is to see a dramatic increase in the proportion of people leveraging the collective wisdom to convert their intentions into transformational ideas, and becoming change makers themselves!
Earth, and everyplace therein, without an exception.
Between my birth and death, the only two real milestones that I have the wisdom to acknowledge, I wish to see this world become a place, where the fundamental aspects of us being human are understood. Every old person is treated with dignity, respect and gratitude, Every kid is free to dream, play and aspire and no organism's right to live with dignity is questioned, and finally, where prosperity and peace are positive sum games.
I founded InteGreater (www.integreater.org) two months ago, in November 08. I have no prior experience in social ventures, but I consider being a good human is qualification enough. I am utilizing my experience in the strategic business research function to bring a change that matters, really.
