I want to see our educational system change to better meet the needs of todays children.
Today’s education system was adopted in the late 1800’s. At the time, it may have been important to raise children who would conform and not question authority. Children growing up today are living in a far more complex world where alienation, familiarity with violence and lack of responsibility are the norm. To be better prepared for this world, it’s essential that our children understand how the human brain works. It will help them understand issues that are relevant to their lives, such as why we behave and feel the way we do, how we learn, how memory functions, why we sleep. This can lead them to explore these questions and issues so they become more empathetic towards others and feel responsible for the world they live in.
We hope to nurture a new generation of strategic thinkers with creative approaches to the world’s problems through games like “Neuromatrix.”
