Jan has lived on three continents but she remains very Asian at heart. Staunchly resistant to a nine-to-five office job and unable to tame her creative urges, she has opted for the by-line of a perpetually curious sports journalist, who spends her off-field time encouraging and sharing her very global journalism experiences with her students at a tertiary institution in Singapore.
While she was reading History and Asian Studies at the University of Melbourne, she has dabbled in a variety of trades - ranging from a wonderful stint as a barista of a café along St Kilda, a psychometrist at a global HR consulting firm to a research academic at an Australian university where she fell in love with the invigorating work environment.
Despite the fact that football is her first language, Jan enjoys writing a variety of sports and is at present being published on several print and new media platforms. A bohemian at heart, she sets aside time to feed her fetish for theatre and jazz, flirt with her vintage white electric guitar, and she is most committed to empowering people in developing nations through knowledge transfer and skills training.
