I work with young people with an intellectual disability and those deemed At Risk in our community. They are mostly interested in gaining employment so that they can participate more fully. We work together in several social enterprises including a Cafe.
Although I live in Melbourne, Australia I still have my heart connected to my birthplace, London, England. My brothers and their families are there so I get to visit and see how London has changed economically and culturally over the years. A city with great hope and resilience.
In Australia I would like to see the government open more doors for young people with an intellectual disability to enable them to become more independent and makers of their own paths.
